Thirty some years ago when the only Mexican restaurants in Chicago were La Margarita, Su Casa and this place, Pepe's was an oasis of Mexican delights in a city void of the cuisine. Unfortunately, Pepe's hasn't kept up with the times. While most Mexican restaurants nowadays offer the standard tacos, enchiladas and burritos infused with flavor and/or regional Mexican fare that is out of this world, Pepe's remains mired in the 70's. A trip to Pepe's nowadays consists of what looks like a dish from "your grocer's freezer" that's been in the oven for 40 minutes and placed on your plate. That's how I felt after the last time I left this place. Really disappointing to see that a place that was a forerunner of Mexican eats in Chicago hasn't done squat to keep up with the times. Any taqueria, Taco Bell or Chipotle will do better. Hasta la bye-bye, Pepe's.
I don't understand the poor reviews. Each time we have gone there, the food has been great. Yes, it is served quickly but I never had the impression that we were having warmed over food. The service is great; Leo is a wonderful example of what a server should be - friendly and, attentive - unfailingly cheerful too. When it is not busy we chat about families, etc.....he is just a great guy. The other servers are great too. So, good food, great value (esp at lunch!) and top notch service make this a place we return to again and again.

We have been going here since I was little and the Burrito Suizo, Tostadas and Enchiladas are great. Fried ice cream is a good finish to the meal.

I love Mexican food and my husband and I went here one night not having high expectations. We were pleasantly surprised however. I had the Carne Asada Tampequina (sp?) with a Carnita taco. The meal comes with ranchero sauce, a taco, tosada or enchilada on the side, rice & beans, guacamole and chips. My husband had the burrito. We have been back a few times now and both get the Carne Asada. One negative is the Margaritas are very weak. Service is great though. Give this place a try.

Pepe's is awesome. My friend took me there for the first time over 12 years ago. I get the burrito suizo almost every time. I have also had the Mayan which is delicious. The fried ice cream is great as well as the margaritas. It is the best Mexican restaurant I have been to and the service there is fantastic. This restaurant has been my favorite since I went there the first time. Besides the food just being wonderful, the customer service goes far beyond what I would expect at todays establishments. I would recommend this place to anyone. I am going back today for my birthday!!!

The. Best. Chips and salsa! Great service, amazing food! My family and I have been going here for decades; the food and service have been consistently great! I live a long distance from here, but it is always worth the drive. Have literally never had anything bad here. Love, love, love this place!

Eh decent Mexican food here. It is definitely a more Americanized Mexican food. The place is not a big place but plenty for a small family or friends. I noticed a lot of people having different kind of drinks on their table so I'm sure they must be good. Everyone that was in there had some sort of margarita so that was good and would probably be the only reason to eat there. If your going to just eat food I would suggest saving your money and going to Taco Bell across the street. The waiter was nice as well as the restraint itself. There was one waiter for like 10+tables so the service was a Little slow.

I wish I could give NO stars, but unfortunately there is no option... My family and I have been coming here and are repeat customers. However, this was by far the WORST service I have ever received; lets just say, I could have gotten better service at TACOBELL down the street. We all sat down, waiter (very rude and had an attitude) took drink orders. Clearly, he wasn't using his memory- he forgot half of the tables drinks and we had to re-order our WATER. Next, it took 30 min just to put in our order for food. Come on, 30 mins? I understand you are busy and the place is packed, but 30 mins to just take our order? He takes our orders, rolls his eyes, and then goes. Our food came and everything was fine. NEVER did he come by to check on us or on our food. He came 30 min later to see if we were done. We requested the bill. We were all walking out, and he came outside to flag us down. He said "you only tipped me that much? I did you a favor when one of your members made a ordering mistake. You need to tip more". WHAT! SERIOUSLY? YOU WANT ME TO TIP MORE JUST BECAUSE YOU TELL ME TO? IS THAT HOW TIPPING WORKS? This guy made me come back inside and he tried to get more money out of me. Obviously SERVICE was horrible and I was not about to tip him more money. Haha best thing yet, the dumb front desk lady then comments "Oh you are only tipping that much of that bill? you need to put more" WTF AND then the guy starts slamming shit infront of us. Are you kidding me? I wish I went to TACOBELL instead of this disrespectful place. DO NOT teach me how to tip. I know good service from bad, NOT YOU. THANK GOD i didn't use my credit card. Also, STOP SERVING ALCOHOL TO MINORS! I hope this place runs out of business. NEVER WILL COME BACK HERE IN MY LIFE!

Great food! My girlfriend, who is Mexican, says the food is authentic. Service was good. I always wanted to come here since I saw the commercials for it during Cub games during the 80's with Leon Durham (He was the Cubs 1st baseman). I finally came! If u like Mexican then u should come here. Inexpensive too. 11.00 for my frito burrito with rice and beans for 10.00 or 11.00. Free refills for ice tea. Also flan is 4.95.

This place is so close to where I live....so I really, really want it to be delicious, but it is not. My husband and I have dined here several times due to the close proximity to our apartment and tried several different items and we are never impressed. The most delicious part of our dining experience is the salsa with the chips at the beginning of our meal. We've order burritos, enchiladas, and other dinner items... alas, yet to find one that is good. The flavor is just not well developed. Plus the food NEVER seems like it comes out HOT. To add insult to injury, their margaritas are expensive... what am I supposed to enjoy at this place?!!?

It kind of makes me sad (and confused) that their Yelp rating is so low! My family and I have been going to Pepe's ever since my mom and I moved to the area (my stepdad and stepbrothers have been regulars all their lives, I believe). But, it's always been consistently good every time we've gone! I it's still just as good nowadays when I visit my parents as it was back in high school. Most recently, I went there with my parents about a week ago when i was in town. The salsa is still amazing (I downed I think 3 bowlfuls myself!!) and the chips are plentiful, warm, and fresh. I ordered the fajitas, my stepdad ordered the veggie burrito suizas, and my mom got enchiladas suizas, as usual. We all really enjoyed our meals. My fajitas did have an unusually large amount of onions, but I just pushed whatever I didn't want to the side. the quantity was STILL enough that I had PLENTY of leftovers to take home. Service was great as usual. My parents love Leo and always ask for him as a server when we go in, so he definitely took care of us! And the busboys were always on top of keeping our salsa bowls and waters full :) In the past I've had enchiladas, their burrito suiza, chile rellanos, quesadillas, and tacos and honestly I've never really had a complaint about any of their food. For birthdays, they bring out a complimentary sopapilla which is always SUPER delicious. I think they automaticaly put strawberry sauce on this, so if we're there for a birthday, we'll request them to change it to chocolate (our preference). I always look forward to visiting pepe's when I'm back in the Chicago area and I can't wait until I'm there again! :)

I like this place because of the different dishes- some lean closer to the authentic, others towards tex-mex. It was very comfortable, adobe style design. I can not remember what dishes I had, too long ago. I just know the guacamole was great, it had tomatoes and just enough seasoning.

I was craving nachos and came here during my lunch break. It was definitely worth the trip! The staff was friendly and the service was speedy enough for an hour-long lunch break. I've had better Mexican food but I've also had worse. I ordered their beef nacho platter which came with guac, sour cream & refried beans. The beans & guac were not the best and the beef had a slight chilli taste, but overall the food satisfied my craving. The cheese and soda were the meal highlights - as was the service & general atmosphere. Compared to other Pepe's locations I've visited, I liked the decor, layout & service here best. The food was meh & I probably wouldn't think to come back here for a meal unless someone else wanted to, other places were crowded or I craved nachos again.

Not authentic Mexican, but not tex-mex either. It sits in between with deliciously consistent and inexpensive food. The service is friendly and on top of everything. The salsa tastes great, but the consistency differs quite a bit. Sometimes it will be extremely watery, and other times it is closer to pico de gallo. Either way, it is still good.

I gave them a 3 because I used a coupon from an online site and they were very nice about it. The service was excellent. The food is what I would call American Mexican food and I could take or leave it. We ordered the $35 platter (coupon) and had to take A LOT home! The chips and salsa are free and very good!

Surprisingly better than I expected! I am a bit of a Mexican food junkie. The guacamole was on par, but the margaritas were out of this world. I'm saddened to see the ratings are so low.

I was crazy enough to go here alone with my 2 year old and 4 month old twin girls. I believe Leo was our server ( really tall, super nice guy). When the food came I didn't have hands to help my 2 year old. Our server was nice enough to make her a plate as we were sharing my platter. Sooooo nice. Then my baby spit up all over my shoulder while I was holding both babies. He surprised me when he actually started cleaning the mess off my shoulder. I have been coming to this location for over 10 years. I can confidently say I am a customer for life! The food always hits the spot!

GREAT EXPERIENCE! After living in the area for years, the boyfriend and I finally decided to go to Pepe's (after also getting a coupon in the mail)... First and foremost, our waiter was awesome. Made friendly side chit-chat with us - super personable! Immediately would refill our drinks and are chips and salsa without us having to ask. Definitely above and beyond expectations... We both ordered the Mayan - rice and beans, enchilada, tostada, and a taco. It was delicious and filling! Came in a reasonable time too. CHIPS AND SALSA - we definitely read the Yelp reviews of the "ketchup" salsa before we left - we have NO IDEA what people are talking about......it was good, and the chips were better than other mexican restaurant "leftover" chips that I am use to. We also ordered the 60 ounce pitcher of the on the rocks, strawberry margarita - wasn't the strongest in comparison to other restaurants I've been to, but definitely did the job. :D We definitely plan on going back their again - coupon or not!

This Pepe's is the only one in all of Chicagoland that is any good. I've been to other ones and the food is not as good. My whole family has been going to this place for as long as I can remember. Never once have I had bad service here. You just have to know when to go - eariler in the week when it is not completely packed.

I love mexican food but this place was not even worth the gas it cost to drive there. the chips and salsa had no taste, the salsa tasted like ketchup, lacked any real flavor. the food came out suspiciously fast, the cheese looked like they melted a cheap slice of american cheese. i ordered the mayan (taco, tostada, enchilada) and everything was bland and the cheese was fake plastic tasting. last time i went to pepe's was probably 4 years ago but this last visit convinced me to never eat pepe's again. also, if you want spicy more flavorful salsa with your chips they charge you extra for it, and even that wasn't good! ridic. like in a bad way.

Pepe's is a great little Mexican restaurant that has been around for quite some time. My wife used to dine here when she was in High School, and continues to do the same today. The service here is impeccable. The are polite, attentive, and want to ensure you enjoy your experience. The food is prepared promptly, and always tastes delicious. If you are looking for an authentic experience for a reasonable price, I highly recommend here.

I have been going here since I was a little girl. I'm now 24! I love this place!! I highly recommend the cheese enchiladas, ground beef tacos, rice, tamales, or fried ice cream!!!! Good price and AMAZING food! Request Leo for your server - hes good!

The food is not bad. So far everything i have had from there has been pretty good. The chile rellenos where very comparable to a GREAT mexican place i go to in Chicago. It satisfies my Mexican food craving while I am in Rolling Meadows.

Everything about it BLAH! Went there for appetizer and drink. Free chips and salsa... chips ok... salsa or ketchup I was going to ask? Did not see the difference. Drink was overpriced and decent. Ordered quesadillas... did not eat after a bite, decided to leave the drink and run! Service ok.

I had a decent expereince at this Pepes, after not having been to one in probably 15 years. We got a parking space RIGHT in front, and were seated right away. Our waitress was adequately attentive, and the food came relatively quickly. The free chips & salsa were a nice touch, but the one thing my dinner partner mentioned was that the sauce "isn't what it used to be". We were able to eat a decent meal in under an hour.

OMG. Do not even THINK about going to this place. Go to Taco Bell...food is 10 times better and you will spend less. I've been to Pepe's once (oh about 7 years ago), my grandma used to always rave about it from when her and her girlfriends went back in the 80's(?). So, I wanted to take my daughters out to eat last Saturday night. I wanted Mexican and thought, what the heck? Haven't been to Pepe's in forever, it's right down the street...SURE WHY NOT? Well, upon turning onto New Wilke, I'm reminded that a Grande Jakes recently (a year and a half maybe?) opened kiddy-corner from Pepe's. Should we go to Grande Jakes? I've been to the one in Buffalo Grove...not earth shattering, but still good food. Nah, I want to go to a 'restaurant'. We pull into the parking lot...VERY empty. Well, it is only about 5:15...a little early for Saturday night 'dinner rush'. We go in, are seated on the 'homely' side (I think this is where you get put if you have children with you (mine are 2 and 6)..it seems distant and lonely...plus one of the bus boys phones was literally on the windowsill right next to my seat. Anyway, we get our drinks. Me a diet coke (wtf...tastes like it was from the soda box they opened when they maybe opened this restaurant), 6 y/o gets lemonade (um, pretty much water with a splash of lemon), 2 y/o gets apple juice (thankfully that is decent). Chips and TOMATO FLAVORED WATER???! Basket of tortilla chips and two bowls of 'salsa' were placed on the table. The waiter said this one is mild, this one is spicy. Ummm, they both taste like water with a hint of tomato. I ask for something spicy...I'm given a orangish version with green onions. A TEENY bit spicier...but still tastes like water. No point in eating this. My 6 y/o got cheese quesadilla and fries, 2 y/o got cheese quesadillas and rice and I got ground beef burrito dinner (rice and beans). 6 year old would not eat quesadillas after one bite. Her fries were edible (no salt, but ketchup helps). Baby was pretty good with her food..well, for a 2 year old. I will admit rice and beans were pretty good. The burrito however...first of all, was not ground beef. You know that 'chili' you buy in a can (Hormel?)..yea, that chili that is in a nut shell a mix of 'beef' and textured soy protein?? THAT is what the 'ground beef' in my burrito was. It was that chili mixed with beans, thrown in a tortilla and topped with orange cheddar(?) cheese. I took two bites and couldn't handle it. Oh and this burrito was only slightly larger than the cheap yumminess of a Taco Bell burrito. As 'garnishment' on the plate there was lettuce and a dollop of sour cream. I didn't sour cream is sweet??? Yuck. Lettuce was good though :) Me and the kids were not asked how our meal was or if we needed anything...NOT ONCE. Finally I got the waiters attention and asked for to go containers (we had no intention of eating this slop, but I'm not one to make a scene unfortunately). I had no intention of leaving a tip (terrible service, terrible food)...but I'm a softy. When the waiter brought the bill, he brought my girls each a snack bag of Teddy Grahams. DAMN. Bill came out to 25...I paid 30 and said keep the change. I fumed the whole way home about this experience. I could've gone to Taco Bell for HALF the price and would have been EXTREMELY satisfied. Instead I spent $30 on basically one of the worst meals of my life when I could've spent that at a different place for 10 times better quality. Don't waste your money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you've been to authentic (that's the key word here) Mexican restaurants, then do not go here. First off, I was in Rolling Meadows for a job fair and decided to stop by here after it had been over. We were greeted and brought to our tables and given the salsa and tortilla chips, as every Mexican place has ever done. I ordered a beer and a friend of mine ordered a margarita. I also ordered the steak taco dinner meal with cilantro and onions. This is why it gets 1 star. The tacos I was given were in a wrapper and you can tell that the tacos had been reheated and not cooked. How could I tell? Well for one, the wrapper was stuck to the taco and the steak I bit into wasn't even hot. It was lukewarm! You could tell they just warmed it up followed by dumping the onions and cilantro on. Not to mention that for a non authentic Mexican restaurant, the place is pretty expensive for low quality food.

After reading the other reviews (including the filtered ones) I am glad to agree that this particular Pepe's does not represent the chain at all. In my opinion it's much better than all the rest. Here's why: 1. Many of the poor reviewers are expecting authentic Mexican cuisine. You will not get that here. This is "Americanized" Mexican food. I have to ask for my order to be "extra spicy". The American "bland" flavor makes it so I can still take my wife and grandma here without them having nothing to eat. 2. You know what? The Carne Asada sucks here, the same as it does at the Orland Park location and every other location. I have tried other locations and they are terrible. In fact, this is the only Pepe's I will go to in Chicagoland. If you want a good Mexican steak, try a Mexican steakhouse like La Magdalena in Schaumburg. If you're not ordering an actual steak I hope you enjoy your $15 filet mignon tacos - after La Magdalena overcooks the meat they taste similar to the steak tacos for $7.50 here. But whatever, pay for what you like! 3. Speaking of tacos, this is the only place I've ever had "stuffed" tacos other than taco bell. That's right: it's a real taco, from a restaurant, not fast food garbage, that puts real chihuahua cheese between 2 tortillas. For an extra 50 cents per taco. Yes they are twice as delicious. Yes they are twice as filling. Yes you only need to order half as many. Yes, I am a large man with a huge appetite and I get full with 3 stuffed instead of 6 regular (or 12 regular at taco bell, which are kind of gross/fast food-y anyway). Yes, the option is barely noticeable on the menu and they only offer it if you know to ask for it. I skip the rice & beans sides (3 taco "dinner") and just order 5 individual tacos at the 3 taco dinner price so I have 2 left over for lunch the next day. They reheat perfect, so you can't over order them in case you're worried. Get 5 or 10, they'll be perfect for a couple days in your fridge and almost as good microwaved as they were fresh. You're welcome. 4. The Queso Fundito appetizer is fantastic. It's Mexican fondue. It's slightly better in multiple places in Chicago proper (better Mexican cheese ratio?) but will cost twice as much for half as much food. This appetizer goes great with: 5: The giant F-ing margarita! Get the La Siesta. For 1 person it is aptly named. Split it between 2 people or order it for your date if you're under 30 and want a fun night (my wife has convinced me to order it many times because she prefers to drive!). It's like half a pitcher. It costs about $12. It comes in a giant glass you can take home for an extra 5 bucks if you want. What's not to love? 6. The shrimp. Sure, it's a grandma dish - my grandma loves the shrimp quesadillas. But I've tried them. They're huge shrimp they put in those things, and it's still only about $9.00. Sometimes old people have good taste! 7. The salad. Yeah, it's stupid to care about taco salad at a Mexican restaurant, but a lot of people do. My wife orders it, and it's great for someone who isn't sure they like Mexican food at all or anyone who just wants a really good, giant salad. It comes with the best shell I've ever seen and fresh fruit (fresh melon slices, strawberries, pinnapple, etc.). Total waste of $ compared to a grocery store except for the homemade shell (just like taco bell but huge and not lousy). Still a great deal at about $9.00 when you consider how big it is/fancy it looks and the possible combination with the $12 giant margarita (why didn't I remember this stuff when I was in college?!?) 8. The waitstaff. They're the best. They'll bring you extra chips without asking. They'll bring you the super-hot sauce for free if you request it (it's American-Mexican remember -- most flavor is cheese, not spicy). One guy worked his way up from busboy to waiter and now basically runs the place. I forget his name, but if you get him you'll know it because the service will be perfect. The other waitstaff... well, they change over the years, so it's a crap shoot. Just look for the 6 foot +, dark haired (short hair), clean shaven, clean, light skinned Mexican guy and ask for him specifically to serve you. He's also the host and the defacto manager, but if you request him he'll do it and everything will be PERFECT. 9. Yeah, the decor is stuck in the 70's as is the food. If you don't like it, eat somewhere that's more trendy. La Magdalena (expensive) or Fuego (also excellent, though much more authentic & expensive). Hell, if you're under 25 try Salsa 17: you might like it if you also like TGI Fridays. However: If you just want a reasonable night out that might actually impress someone, try this particular Pepe's. In the race of chains it beats its' sister restaurants like a fully fueled Corvette beats a malnourished turtle. Like always, just make sure you know how to order and which wait staff to ask for. Happy dining! John

I go to Pepe's at least once a week the waiters there are the best and the food is always great and fast! I always have to order to go a bag of chips n salsa after I eat there. Salsa is definately 5 stars.

I think Pepe's food is lousy! I had crisp corn tortilla beef tacos, and the crisp tortilla looked and tasted like the ones from the "taco kits" you can buy in the grocery store, which suck. Too much lettuce, and not much else as far as the normal garnish that you find in a decent Mexican restaurant. The place was pretty good a number of years ago, but it has gone down-hill with respect to the food. The service was good, but I will not go back there again

My family has been going there for at least 25 years, nothing has changed: the food and the decor are the same, and the waitstaff has been the same for at least 10 years. The food may not be the most "authentic", but this is what I grew up on. This is our constant and we're all really happy with it. The busboys know who we are and they always bring us extra salsa because they'd end up wearing out the carpet bringing us more while we wait for our food. I literally could eat a gallon of their salsa everyday, no chips needed just a big spoon.

I would give this place negative stars if it let me. This place had some garbage Mexican food, seriously. I would have been better off at Taco Bell. Anyway, I had one of their combo platters that came with a little of everything. To my big surprise, I didn't like any of it. The only thing I did kind of enjoy was the free chips and salsa, which was just sad.

this is better mexican food than your average fast-food mexican place, but it's a little on the greasy side. If you remember Chi-Chi's, think food similar to that, with a little more spice. There's never a long wait, and the food is pretty decently priced. If you're a margarita person, they're very good and large for the price. If you're feelilng adenturous, try the chorizo. it'sa spicy change from your regular ground-beef and quite good.

I am not going back....the food was really bad, like bad. Everything tasted like it came from a can. It basically had no taste and was just a gloppy mess on the plate. The margartitas tasted like they had old beer mixed in them.

What a waste of a drive.....first off, waited 15 minues (!?!?!) before anyone came over, he said they were "too busy".....brought no chips & salsa, had to ask for it----food came quick but had hair in it, waited 20 mintues, nobody came, the bill came and I was overcharged, couldn't eat food with hair in it....waited also 20 minutes for more drink. Wouldn't go back for this kind of drive. Food was bad. Kids loved theirs though.

I have gone to this Pepe's many times found out they got new owners. I really enjoyed it then but now. The margartita did not taste right no pucker taste like water down lemon with no kick. I went with friends. they asked us if we would like beans and rice and we said yes. Then we got the bill they added $2.50 for @ plate(it was a spoon full of beans and a spoon full of rice not worth $2.50. At other places they tell you that it would be extra not here

We had several families in our party and wanted separate checks. We we're told we could only have separate checks per table. Our server, however, was very accommodating.

The food isn't great but isn't bad either with your usual selection of Mexican dishes. I just wish that the presentation would be more attractive.

We were able to eat a decent meal in under an hour.

this is better mexican food than your average fast-food mexican place, but it's a little on the greasy side.

The service was good, but I will not go back there again

hands up to "leo" he is a great server and always makes sure that you are satisfied with your dinner. love the food and of course they have the best margaritas in town :) keep up the good work!

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Still looking for Sonoran style Mexican food. Alas, Pepe's is not it. Chips were tasty and plentiful but the salsa was watery and flavorless. No machaca beef for tacos or burritos- ground beef or skirt steak; beans were puréed and rice was bland.

(3)Cynthia E.
(3)Michelle L.
Love this place! Chicken tamales, stuffed tacos, salsa and chips and everything else! Not to mention the extremely quick and polite wait staff!
(5)Mary K.
(4)Montel P.
I gave them a 3 because I used a coupon from an online site and they were very nice about it. The service was excellent. The food is what I would call American Mexican food and I could take or leave it. We ordered the $35 platter (coupon) and had to take A LOT home! The chips and salsa are free and very good!
(3)Mary C.
Surprisingly better than I expected! I am a bit of a Mexican food junkie. The guacamole was on par, but the margaritas were out of this world. I'm saddened to see the ratings are so low.
(4)Christina D.
(5)Sharon H.
We had several families in our party and wanted separate checks. We we're told we could only have separate checks per table. Our server, however, was very accommodating.
(3)Sherwin C.
The food isn't great but isn't bad either with your usual selection of Mexican dishes. I just wish that the presentation would be more attractive.

(4)Ami D.

(4)Jade J.
I have been going here since I was a little girl. I'm now 24! I love this place!! I highly recommend the cheese enchiladas, ground beef tacos, rice, tamales, or fried ice cream!!!! Good price and AMAZING food! Request Leo for your server - hes good!
(5)Melissa P.
The food is not bad. So far everything i have had from there has been pretty good. The chile rellenos where very comparable to a GREAT mexican place i go to in Chicago. It satisfies my Mexican food craving while I am in Rolling Meadows.
(4)Ana C.
Service ok.
(1)Christine P.

John
(4)Chris J.
I go to Pepe's at least once a week the waiters there are the best and the food is always great and fast! I always have to order to go a bag of chips n salsa after I eat there. Salsa is definately 5 stars.
(4)Rich W.
(1)Stacy G.
hands up to "leo" he is a great server and always makes sure that you are satisfied with your dinner. love the food and of course they have the best margaritas in town :) keep up the good work!
(4)Liz B.
(4)Deez D.
(1)Rob S.
this is better mexican food than your average fast-food mexican place, but it's a little on the greasy side.
(4)Rebecka S.
I am not going back....the food was really bad, like bad. Everything tasted like it came from a can. It basically had no taste and was just a gloppy mess on the plate. The margartitas tasted like they had old beer mixed in them.
(1)J M.

(4)Lori K.

The free chips & salsa were a nice touch, but the one thing my dinner partner mentioned was that the sauce "isn't what it used to be". We were able to eat a decent meal in under an hour.

this is better mexican food than your average fast-food mexican place, but it's a little on the greasy side.

The service was good, but I will not go back there again

hands up to "leo" he is a great server and always makes sure that you are satisfied with your dinner. love the food and of course they have the best margaritas in town :) keep up the good work!

I am not going back....the food was really bad, like bad. Everything tasted like it came from a can. It basically had no taste and was just a gloppy mess on the plate. The margartitas tasted like they had old beer mixed in them.
(1)J M.

Still looking for Sonoran style Mexican food. Alas, Pepe's is not it. Chips were tasty and plentiful but the salsa was watery and flavorless. No machaca beef for tacos or burritos- ground beef or skirt steak; beans were puréed and rice was bland.

The. Best. Chips and salsa! Great service, amazing food! My family and I have been going here for decades; the food and service have been consistently great! I live a long distance from here, but it is always worth the drive. Have literally never had anything bad here. Love, love, love this place!
(5)Fabian L.
